What is PitStopper?
PitStopper.net is a privacy-focused route planning tool designed for adventurers, cyclists, hikers, and travelers who need to discover points of interest along their routes.
We leverage OpenStreetMap data to provide comprehensive POI coverage worldwide. PitStopper.net is designed so that your browser makes connections directly to OpenStreetMap servers - none of your route data ever touches our servers.

How It Works
Client-Side Processing
When you upload a GPX file, it's parsed and processed entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Your browser then queries third-party APIs directly to fetch POI and elevation data.
- Upload your GPX file - Drag and drop or select your route file
- Select POI categories - Choose what you're looking for (water, food, services, etc.)
- Search along route - PitStopper queries OpenStreetMap for POIs within your search radius
- Explore results - View POIs on the map and elevation chart
- Export if needed - Download POIs as a new GPX with waypoints
