PitStopper.net is a privacy-focused route planning tool designed for adventurers, cyclists, hikers, and travelers who need to discover points of interest along their routes.
We leverage OpenStreetMap data to provide comprehensive POI coverage worldwide. PitStopper.net is designed so that it is your browser that makes the connection to Openstreetmap servers - none of your data is seen by our server.
Add distance markers at regular intervals along your route. These markers will appear on the map and can be included in your exported GPX file.

The POI cache stores previously searched POI categories to improve performance. If you're not finding expected POIs, try clearing the cache to force a fresh search.
Elevation data is cached to reduce API calls when the same POI locations are searched again.
These settings are stored in your browser's localStorage. Clearing them will reset the application to default values.

This tool compares your GPX file's elevation data against SRTM satellite terrain data. It samples 100 points along your route and checks for discrepancies, helping identify if your GPS recorded accurate elevation or if the data may need correction.

This dashboard shows the health and performance of Overpass API servers. Servers with 3+ consecutive failures are placed in a 5-minute cooldown.
